Back in April I travelled to Thailand for Kate & Troy’s wedding which you might remember I posted about when I got back. Before we headed to the beautiful Koh Samui for the wedding we stayed a few nights in Bangkok in a nice hotel in China Town. It was dark when we checked in and I remember looking out the window at all the lights and thinking how beautiful the view was from the 11th floor. Well waking up early the next morning and pulling the curtains back to check out the view was quite a bit different, it looked like we were staying in the slums!

Bangkok is a very unique place and I think two nights there is plenty so we were glad to get on the plane and head to the tropical paradise that is Koh Samui. We stayed in a really nice resort and when I stepped out onto the balcony to check out the view again I wasn’t disappointed it was breathtaking and quite a lot more tranquil than the view we had in Bangkok I think you will agree.

It was amazing looking back at the feelings experienced waking up and taking in the view of each place. Bangkok didn’t excite me but I got more of a feeling of right lets get out and do some sightseeing and shopping etc as when I took in the beautiful view at Koh Samui my mood was more relaxed and it was more along the line of let’s get a cocktail and sit by the pool all day and relax which we did a lot!
It is bizzare how something as simple as a view can influence your mood for the day.
