Dance

October 15th, 2009 Posted in Portraits

Emily came to me with the idea of capturing some artistic images of her doing what she loves most and that is dance.  A shoot like this is a quite different to the weddings and family portraits that we do here day to day so it was a welcomed challenge to orchestrate this shoot.  We sat down and worked out some concepts of what we could do to capture the emotion, fun and movement of dancing in a series of images and then went about putting those ideas into practise and below is an example of the end result.

We used a combination of lights to freeze the action and filters to help finish off the images and add to the overall impact of each one.  Emily was wrapped with the finished photographs that we are now designing into a nice coffee table book for her.
