I photographed a beautiful wedding at Potters on the weekend of Amanda & Richard who are both teachers. Someone had organised their prep and grade 2 classes to write what they thought love was on small heart shaped paper and have them displayed at the wedding – what they wrote was just beautiful.
Here are a few of the little gems they came out with.
‘love is a persons hand that falls into another’
‘love is when someone wants to take care of somebody for the rest of their lives’
‘love is when someone tucks you in at night’
‘love is something that makes you feel emotional, happy, great, special and maybe dazed. It is a wonderful thing to have in life’
‘love is kissing’
Children see life so clearly, we can get caught up in weddings with all the planning, stress, family issues and details but at the end of the day it is as simple as how these kids have expressed it. If only we could all live life so simply – somewhere between this age and adulthood life get’s a whole lot more complicated, we can learn a lot from kids.
