Tattoo portraits – Melbourne

I haven’t had a chance to take many photographs for my Tattoo exhibition lately so it was good to get out and get a few images of Vanessa on the weekend. These are just some preliminary images that we will tweak in the next session but I think we got some great shots and uncovered a bit of her personality which is what the project is all about. If you know of anyone with tattoos that might be interesting to photograph and would be good for this project please email me as I am looking for new subjects from all spectrum’s especially people over 30 as I only really have young people at the moment.

Since starting the business 7 years ago I haven’t dedicated much time to doing personal work and all my attention has been shooting for clients only. I have missed exhibiting and at the moment I have started shooting for an exhibition which I plan to hold next year on people with tattoos. I am only in the early stages of this project and have only photographed a few subjects but I am having a great time doing it and meeting some interesting people in the process.

Below is a sneak peek at a few shots done so far, the aim is to tell a story about the individual being photographed and an insight into who they are with the tattoos being secondary.
